WHEN YOU ARE MYOPIC, HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES EFFECTIVELY ?

27-08-2021

Myopia not only affects our vision but also interferes with our quality of life. Near-sighted eyes are often dry and tired when having to work too much. Therefore, you need to take proper care to help the nearsightedness not become worse and your eyes feel more relaxed.

       1. Use corrective lenses:

You should wear corrective lenses with the right power for your eyes to avoid glare, fatigue, and long-term damage to your eyes.

If you have mild myopia below 0.75 degrees, you do not need to wear glasses regularly, or you do not need to wear glasses continuously. At the level of 1-2 degrees, you should wear them when you need to see things at a distance to limit the regulation of the eyes. Concurrently, wearing glasses requires expert advice and careful examination. If you do not wear corrective lenses, your eyes will become tired, which leads to decrease in eyesight.

        2. Get your eyes rested:

As recommended by experts, you should rest your eyes in 5 minutes, once every 30-45 minutes. During rest time, you should close your eyes in 10 seconds and avoid looking at TV, phone or computer screens because these devices emit blue light, which is harmful to the eyes.

You can also use the method of directing your eyes to areas with natural green colors to relax your eyes after tired working hours.

        3. Vitamins supply for eyes

Vitamin and mineral supplements in daily foods help eyes health, prevent or limit eye diseases and fight oxidation.

🥕 Vitamin A: one of the essential micronutrients for bright healthy eyes, found in green or yellow vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins,...; liver, eel, avocado

🥦 Vitamin B6: is contained in a lot of fish such as salmon, tuna,...; broccoli, asparagus…

🍠 Vitamin E: is an antioxidant, reduces the risk of cataracts and is contained a lot in eel, squid, shrimp, sweet potato, soybean and vegetable oil

🍅 Vitamin C: helps enhances eyesight, reduces the risk of cataracts, contained abundantly in sour fruits such as lemons, grapefruit, strawberries, tomatoes .., spinach, cauliflower, white cabbage. , dill, scallions, grapes, pineapple

🌽 Lutein: helps protect the retina, contained in corn (corn), spinach, eggs, kale …

         4. Protect your eyes properly:

To protect your eyes and avoid increasing the risk of myopia, you should create a habit of studying and working properly. When studying, you should sit with a distance of 30cm from your eyes to the book. When working, the distance from the eyes to the computer should be 50cm. You should sit straight back, do not bend over the screen or avoid lying on the bed to work. Keep the minimum distance when reading. Particularly, you should study or work in places where the light is bright enough.

Moreover, when going out, you should also use sunglasses to avoid fine dust flying into your eyes, as well as to avoid eyes looking directly into the sun so that the eyes are not damaged.

          5. Avoid rubbing your eyes regularly

The habit of rubbing your eyes when itchy due to dust flying into your eyes will lead to corneal abrasions, which can damage vision, increase nearsightedness, and over time will potentially cause dangerous diseases for the eyes. Therefore, to help protect your eyes, you should limit the constant rubbing of your eyes.
